What it is for

Three jobs this video does.

Campaign launch videos

The two to three minute film at the top of the campaign page: problem, product, people, ask.

Product demo cuts

The short versions that prove the product works, for updates and ads during the campaign.

Founder story

Backers fund people. The founder on camera, in the workshop, saying why.

Proof

Made by us. Watch it.

A hanging pod and a wooden sunglasses brand, both funded on Kickstarter. The founder is on camera in both, because backers give to people.

Questions

Before you ask.

How much does a Kickstarter video cost?

A one or two day shoot with the founders and the product, plus edit, color, sound, and the demo and ad cuts, is quoted as one package after a discovery call. Animated segments inside the film are $215 per finished second.

How long should a crowdfunding video be?

Two to three minutes for the campaign page, with the product working on screen inside the first thirty seconds. Then thirty-second cuts for the ads that drive traffic to the page.

When should the video be finished relative to the campaign launch?

Two weeks before launch, so the campaign page, the press outreach, and the pre-launch email list all use the finished film. Plan the shoot about ten weeks before launch.

Do you need a finished product to film?

A working prototype is enough. We light it, shoot it carefully, and use renders or animation for the parts that are not built yet, clearly and honestly, which backers respect.

Which crowdfunding campaigns have you filmed?

Canopy, the TreePod hanging pod, and Medicine Werx, a wooden sunglasses brand, both funded on Kickstarter.
